AFC Asian Cup: Bangladesh to face Bahrain in opener on June 8

Groups and fixtures of the AFC Asian Cup China 2023 final round qualifiers were finalised at the AFC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur Thursday.

Bangladesh have been placed in Group E along with Bahrain, Turkmenistan and hosts Malaysia.

The men in red and green will start their campaign on June 8 with the match against a strong Bahrain; face Turkmenistan on June 11, and hosts Malaysia on June 14.

The home and away tournament will be held at a single venue this time due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Twenty-four Asian countries, split into six groups, will initially compete in the final round qualifiers.

Later, six group champions and the five top runners-up will advance to the final round of the AFC Asian Cup Football.
