Dhaka: Zubaida Rahman, Vice President of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation and wife of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, made a visit to a book distribution program for children and a free medical camp in the Korail slum of the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event, organized by the Ziaur Rahman Foundation, took place at the premises of T and T Women's College in the Korail slum area of Dhaka's Mohakhali. In celebration of International Mother Language Day in February, Zubaida Rahman distributed 2,000 books to children and adolescents residing in the Korail slum.
Children and adolescents from the area participated in the book distribution program, showing enthusiasm by welcoming Zubaida Rahman with applause. She interacted with the children by waving and expressing her feelings. During her visit, she emphasized the importance of education and encouraged the children to focus on their studies. The recipients expressed joy upon receiving the free books.
Earlier in the day, Zubaida Rahman inaugurated a free medical camp offering eye treatment for the slum's residents. She took the opportunity to engage with the patients, inquiring about their health and exchanging greetings.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including Chief Coordinator of the BNP's electoral office for Dhaka-17 constituency Bir Muktijoddha Abdus Salam, Joint Coordinator Dr. Farhad Halim Donor, former Commissioner Abul Kalam Azad, Dhaka Mohanagar BNP member Reza Rahman Fahim, and Joint Convenor Banani Thana BNP Imam Hossain Nur.
