Dhaka: Barrister Zaima Rahman, daughter of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, launched an electoral outreach campaign today, urging residents of the Dhaka-17 constituency to vote for her father.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Zaima Rahman began her campaign at around 12 pm from the Police Plaza area in Gulshan, where she interacted with the public and distributed election leaflets. She engaged with pedestrians, rickshaw pullers, CNG drivers, shopkeepers, street vendors, and visitors to shopping malls, advocating for her father's candidacy.
Zaima further extended her efforts by visiting offices and banks in the area. She appealed for support for her father, who is contesting with the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol, and addressed voters directly, saying, "My father Tarique Rahman is the candidate for 'Sheaf of Paddy' in Dhaka-17. I seek your votes for him. Please make him victorious by voting for the Sheaf of Paddy."
Fatema Khatun, caretaker of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, was present alongside Zaima during the campaign. Despite the presence of security personnel, Zaima actively mingled with the public, from Gulshan Police Plaza to Gulshan-1 Circle, and many residents took the opportunity to take pictures with her.
