Washington DC: Barrister Zaima Rahman, the only daughter of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, has arrived in Washington DC to attend the ‘National Prayer Breakfast’ event in the United States on behalf of her father. She traveled from London to Washington DC on Tuesday, as announced in a press release today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Zaima Rahman is the granddaughter of the proclaimer of Bangladesh’s independence, one of the sector commanders of the Liberation War, and Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. She is also the granddaughter of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. Alongside her, a delegation from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) was also invited to the event. The delegation includes BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, who departed from Dhaka on February 2 to attend the event.
The National Prayer Breakfast is set to take place in Washington DC on February 5 and 6. Members of Congress and the Senate will be in attendance, and the event will feature an address by US President Donald Trump. This annual gathering, organized by the National Prayer Breakfast Foundation, brings together dignitaries from various countries, transcending political differences to pray for world peace and humanity.
