Dhaka: Zaima Rahman, granddaughter of the late BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, visited her grandmother's grave this morning, accompanied by family members. The visit took place at Zia Udyan, where they gathered around 10:30 am to offer prayers and pay their respects.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Zaima was joined by approximately 20 relatives, including Syeda Sharmila Rahman, the wife of the late Arafat Rahman Koko. The family maintained a calm and composed demeanor throughout their time at the grave.
Khaleda Zia was laid to rest on December 31 of the previous year with full state honors beside the grave of her husband, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, at Zia Udyan in the capital. The burial rites were performed by her elder son, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, with family members present. A Guard of Honor was provided by the armed forces as a tribute to the former prime minister.
Prior to her burial, Khaleda Zia's namaz-e-janaza was held at a large gathering at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building and Manik Mia Avenue.
