Youth Transformation Essential for Sustainable Development: Adilur

Dhaka: Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan emphasized the necessity of transforming the youth into human resources for sustainable development and an inclusive Bangladesh. He stated that the primary asset of the country is its young population, which should be trained and skilled through education and training to turn challenges into opportunities through skills and innovation. These remarks were made during the inaugural ceremony of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh’s (IDEB) 55th founding anniversary and Public Engineering Day at IDEB Bhaban in Kakrail.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Adilur stressed the importance of principles and honesty, in addition to efficiency, for sustainable development. He highlighted that the development plan would not be sustainable without the integrity and patriotism of skilled individuals. Adilur also urged engineers to go beyond their prescribed duties and focus on research and innovation to tackle current and future challenges.



The event was presided over by IDEB central convener Engineer Md Kabir Hossain, while member secretary Kazi Sakhawat Hossain delivered the welcome address. Following the discussion, Adilur inaugurated a colorful rally by releasing pigeons and balloons on the IDEB building premises, which then paraded through different streets of the city.
