Gazipur:A 23-year-old man named Joy was brutally killed by a group of criminals in the Tongi area early Tuesday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Joy, the son of Sirajul Islam from the Bank Math slum area in Tongi, was attacked with sharp weapons by several youths while returning home around 1 a.m. The attackers fled the scene after the incident.
Upon receiving information, Tongi Railway Police arrived at the location and recovered Joy's body. It was subsequently sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Police are currently analyzing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas in an effort to identify the perpetrators involved in the killing. SI Nur Alam Hossain, in-charge of the Tongi Railway Police Outpost, stated that preparations are being made to file a murder case with Kamalapur Railway Police Station.
