Youth Engagements Pivotal for Bangladesh’s Progress: Asif

Dhaka: Youth and Sports Affairs Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain emphasized today that Bangladesh’s advancement depends on the active involvement of its youth in various activities, including policy matters. Addressing a youth rally on the outskirts of the capital, Bhuyain highlighted the significant historical contributions of youth to transformative changes worldwide and in Bangladesh.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bhuyain, who also oversees the local government ministry, noted the youth’s desire for qualitative change during the July uprising. He stressed that this aspiration goes beyond merely changing regimes, aiming for Bangladesh to present itself as a dignified nation on the global stage. Bhuyain expressed confidence that the current government is working to meet the youth’s aspirations and hopes for their continued support in these endeavors.



The National Youth Development Institute organized the day-long Youth Rally 2025, re-launched in a new format with participation from 700 young men and women. The government has implemented various programs and activities to support the development of the youth community.



The rally was chaired by the institute’s director general, Dr. Moha Bashirul Alam, and attended by special guests, including the ministry’s secretary Md Mahbub ul Alam, joint secretary Kazi Mushtaq Zahir, and director general of the directorate of youth development Dr. Gazi Md Saifuzzaman. Jahangirnagar University’s Associate Professor Amina Islam moderated the event, with Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Mahfuzur Rahman also speaking.
