Magura: A young man died after being electrocuted in Sreepur upazila of Magura on Monday. The deceased was identified as Russel, 30, son of Md Wadud Molla of Baraichara village in the upazila.
According to United News of Bangladesh, locals reported that Russel was using an electric irrigation pump to lift water from a pond beside his house. During the process, the motor of the pump developed a mechanical fault. Russel entered the water to check the issue and was electrocuted, sustaining serious injuries.
He was immediately rescued and taken to Sreepur Upazila Health Complex. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, where doctors on duty declared him dead after examination.
A case of unnatural death has been filed with Sreepur Police Station in connection with the incident.
