Youth Electrocuted During Attempted Wire Theft at Kalabagan

Dhaka: A young man was electrocuted allegedly while attempting to steal electric wires at a house in Kalabagan, Dhaka on Sunday. The incident led to his death, although his identity remains unknown.



According to United News of Bangladesh, the young man was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital around 8:00 am in an unconscious state, where doctors declared him dead. Kalabagan police station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Iqbal Hossain stated that the individual became entangled in live wires during his attempt to steal them.



The house owner reported the incident by calling the national emergency number 999, prompting the police to rush to the scene for a rescue operation. The body has been sent to the morgue of DMCH for an autopsy, and legal proceedings are currently ongoing.
