Rajshahi:Youth have been recognized as the pivotal force in driving the country's economic development, emphasized lawmaker Advocate Mohammad Shafiqul Haque Milon. Speaking at National Youth Day-2026 events in Paba and Mohanpur upazilas of Rajshahi, Milon highlighted the significant role that young people play, given that they make up nearly one-third of the nation's population.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Milon, who represents the Rajshahi-3 (Paba-Mohanpur) constituency, underscored the theme 'Skilled youth will build the country, Bangladesh for all'. He praised Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, referring to him as the shepherd king of history and a great philosopher, for his patriotic vision. Ziaur Rahman was the pioneer in establishing the Ministry of Youth and Sports, aiming to convert the population into a productive workforce for a 'Self-reliant Bangladesh', with youth as the primary catalyst for national prosperity.
The events featured colorful rallies and distribution of youth loan cheques, crests, and tree saplings. Organized by the Mohanpur Upazila Administration and the Department of Youth Development, the Mohanpur program was graced by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Fahima Binte Akhtar and other officials. Meanwhile, the Paba event saw participation from Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ibnul Abedin and various government and private sector representatives.
