New york: Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain has stated that Bangladeshi youth are not only the future but also the present driving force of the nation's democratic transformation. He credited their leadership for transforming nationwide unrest into a movement for justice, equity, and systemic reform.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Hossain made these remarks at the 'July Beyond Border' event held at the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the United Nations in New York. His comments emphasized the crucial role young people have played in the mass movement that began a year ago, leading to a significant political shift in the country.
"The youth-led movement ignited a mass upsurge and was embraced by every segment of our society," Hossain remarked, highlighting the widespread acceptance and support the movement received from different societal groups.
He also acknowledged the interim government, led by Chief Adviser and Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, for effectively harnessing the momentum of the uprising. This leadership transition steered Bangladesh towards reform-oriented national progress.
"With the formation of an interim government under the leadership of Chief Adviser, Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, the July Uprising turned to a passage toward a fairer and more inclusive Bangladesh with stronger institutions and a redefined collective future," Hossain added, underscoring the positive outcomes of the youth-led movement and the subsequent political reforms.
