Dhaka: Prof Dr Md. Showkat Ali has emphasized the crucial role that the youth will play in steering the future economic activities of the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prof Dr Md. Showkat Ali highlighted the importance of financial awareness among the youth, urging them to familiarize themselves with banking, investment, and savings from their student life. He delivered this message while addressing a seminar on ‘Financial Literacy and Banking,’ which was organized by Dhaka Bank Limited in collaboration with the Department of Finance and Banking at BRUR.
Prof Dr Md Showkat Ali praised the initiative taken by Dhaka Bank Limited, describing it as a timely step that will aid students in acquiring the necessary theoretical knowledge on financial literacy and banking. He expressed hope that such arrangements would facilitate learning and awareness among students interested in these fields.
The seminar was chaired by Prof Dr Md Nur Alam Siddique, Head of the Department of Finance and Banking at the university. Prof Md Ferdous Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, attended as a special guest. The event also saw the presence of key figures from Dhaka Bank Limited, including Rangpur Branch Manager and First Vice-President Md Manjur Morshed, as well as Senior Assistant Vice-President of the Retail Banking Division Md Saifur Rahman.
Teachers and students from the Department of Finance and Banking actively participated in the seminar, engaging with the discussions and insights shared by the speakers.
