Dhaka: State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury has called upon media outlets to work with the commitment of presenting the country’s culture, heritage, and development to the world. ‘Media must rise above commercial considerations and imbue ‘Bangladesh First’ spirit in heart,’ he told a discussion marking one decade of private-run satellite television channel Bangla TV at its office here today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Yasser emphasized that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has been working tirelessly to transform the country, prioritizing Bangladesh above all else. He urged private television channels to work as development partners of the government by practicing objective journalism and highlighting the country’s development progress.
The state minister called upon electronic media to maintain professionalism and objectivity in presenting news and broadcasting healthy entertainment programs.
Secretary General of the Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) Dr. Md. Zahirul Islam Shakil, actor Helal Khan, social organization Zia Shishukishor Mela’s Jahangir Sikdar, and Senior Joint Convener of Jubo Dal Akil Ahmed, Bangla TV chairman and managing director Syed Samadul Haque, and Vice Chairman Monirul Islam also spoke at the event.
Media personalities, political leaders, cultural activists, and officials and employees of Bangla TV were present at the event. The celebration began with a cake-cutting ceremony.
