Narayanganj:The Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate has seized 72,944 kg of yarn valued at approximately Tk 2.95 crore from four unregistered warehouses in Araihazar upazila due to the absence of tax invoices.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the seizure was carried out by a preventive team from the commissionerate during a search at the warehouses of Anik Traders, owned by Haji Mobarak Mollah, located at Purinda Bazar in Araihazar.
The operation uncovered metallic, polyester, and nylon yarn of Chinese and Indian origin that did not have the necessary tax documentation. The commissionerate has begun legal proceedings to recover the applicable revenue.
