World Breastfeeding Week-2025 Celebrated with Focus on Sustainable Support in Magura

Magura: World Breastfeeding Week-2025 was celebrated here today with the theme “Prioritize Breastfeeding, Build a Sustainable Support System”. Marking the day, a discussion meeting was held at the Civil Surgeon’s Office at 10 am.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Deputy Commissioner Md. Ohidul Islam attended the meeting as the chief guest, with Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Shamim Kabir presiding over the event. The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that breast milk is the ideal nourishment for infants during their first six months, providing essential nutrients, antibodies, and immune support necessary for optimal growth, development, and long-term health.



He further elaborated that breast milk is uniquely suited to meet the needs of an infant, enhancing their immunity and playing a crucial role in both physical and mental development. He stressed the importance of active participation from families and society in safeguarding child health and ensuring maternal care.



The meeting saw participation from health officials, doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers from various levels, all gathered to underscore the significance of breastfeeding and the need for a supportive environment.
