World Bank and HEAT Project Teams Visit Chittagong University VC

Chittagong: World Bank and the Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) project delegations called on Chittagong University (CU) Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Forkan at the latter’s office on the campus this noon.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the team earlier visited three ongoing projects on the campus. The visit was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor (admin) Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin and acting Registrar Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saiful Islam.



Prof. Forkan commented on the progress of the projects, indicating a preference for research-based work that yields good results, not limited to infrastructure development. He emphasized the importance of research yielding tangible outputs that would benefit both individual departments and the university.



The visiting guests included World Bank Senior Education Specialist T.M. Asaduzzaman, Senior Economist Toby Linden, Senior Consultant Dr. Md. Mahmudul Haque, HEAT Project Director Prof. Dr. Asaduzzaman, Deputy Director Md. Shahidul Islam, and Acting Director of the Planning and Development Office of CU Md. Altaf-ul-Alam, among others.
