Jahangirnagar: A workshop titled 'Post Retirement Financial Issues for Teachers' was held at Jahangirnagar University (JU) today. Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organised the event around 11:30 am at the IQAC conference room of the old registrar building.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan attended the workshop as the chief guest at the inaugural session. In his address, he remarked, "Retirement is a form of fulfilment and both life and expectation have endings." He emphasized the importance of mentally preparing for the concluding phase of one's professional life and expressed hope that the workshop would assist teachers in planning more effectively for their post-retirement future.
The programme was presided over by IQAC Director Professor Dr. Md. Sohel Rana. The event featured a keynote presentation by JU Comptroller Md. Mosanul Kabir, adding depth to the discussion on financial issues faced by teachers after retirement.
The inaugural session was conducted by IQAC Additional Director Professor Dr. Shamim Al Mamun. The workshop saw active participation from senior teachers across various departments of the university, highlighting the significance of the topic among the faculty.
