Rangpur: A workshop titled 'Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF) for Higher Education' was held at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur on Wednesday. The university's Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organised the event at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering virtual classroom with the aim of improving the quality of higher education and raising international standards.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Vice-chancellor of the university, Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali attended the workshop as the chief guest. Addressing the event, the Vice-chancellor emphasized the necessity of raising the quality of higher education to meet global standards in the 21st century. He explained that BNQF is a framework designed to ensure international recognition of the degrees earned by students, and its proper implementation could help develop students into competent and skilled human resources.
The workshop was presided over by BRUR IQAC Director Professor Dr Md Tajul Islam, who also delivered a keynote speech. He highlighted the technical aspects of BNQF and explained its significance in modernizing the curriculum. Teachers from various departments of the university participated in the workshop, which also saw the presence of IQAC Additional Directors Dr Md Abdur Rakib and Dr Md Sajib Mia.
