Dhaka: Bangladesh received US$2.859 billion in workers’ remittances during July 2026, the first month of fiscal year 2026-27, marking a 15.4 percent increase compared with the US$2.478 billion received in the same month of the previous fiscal year.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the latest data indicates that expatriate Bangladeshis sent US$152 million in remittances during the last two days of July (July 30-31), contributing significantly to the month’s total inflow.
The steady growth in remittance earnings is expected to strengthen the country’s foreign exchange reserves and provide continued support to the external sector. The increase in remittances is a positive sign for the nation’s economy, potentially bolstering financial stability and aiding in economic planning and development strategies.
