Dhaka: The Bangladesh Women's national cricket team's jersey for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 was unveiled today during an official function titled 'Chasing Dreams Together' to wish the team.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul, Vice President and Chairman Women's Wing Committee Nazmul Abedeen, and CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury met the players and officials, extending their best wishes for the upcoming event. The ICC Women's World Cup, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, is set to commence next month.
The Bangladesh Women's team is scheduled to play two official warm-up matches against South Africa and Sri Lanka on September 25 and 27 respectively in Colombo. They will kick off their World Cup campaign with a match against Pakistan in Colombo on October 2.
The squad for the tournament includes Nigar Sultana Joty as captain, with Nahida Akter serving as vice-captain. The team also features players such as Farzana Haque, Rubya Haider Jhelik, and Sharmin Akter Supta among others.
The group stage matches will see Bangladesh face Pakistan, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, Sri Lanka, and India across various venues. The knockout stage is scheduled to begin on October 29, with the semifinals taking place in Guwahati or Colombo and Navi Mumbai, and the final set for November 2 in either Navi Mumbai or Colombo.
