Rangpur: The women’s wing of Jamaat-e-Islami held a significant procession and election rally supporting Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal, the 11-party alliance’s candidate for the Rangpur-3 constituency in the upcoming Jatiya Sangsad elections.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the rally commenced at the Public Library grounds, led by Professor Belal, a member of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Central Working Committee and the Rangpur-Dinajpur regional team. The procession traversed key areas, including City Bazaar, Supermarket, Paira Chattar, Jahaz Company Intersection, Press Club, and concluded at Shapla Square.

The event saw participation from notable figures such as Muhammad Abdus Sattar Shah, Central President of the Forum of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh, and Anwarul Haque Kajal, Rangpur Metropolitan Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary.

During his address, Professor Belal urged citizens to dismiss what he termed false propaganda by vested interests about women’s rights under a Jamaat-e-Islami-led government. He assured that the party would ensure women’s rights and encourage their participation in national development according to their skills and qualifications.

He called on voters to oppose conspiracies and misinformation, appealing for support for the 11-party alliance-backed candidates nationwide, emphasizing their commitment to standing against disrespect and abuse of women.

Professor Belal also honored the sacrifices made by youths and students during the historic July Uprising, which he credited with the fall of a fascist regime and the creation of a new Bangladesh.

He concluded by stating, “If voted to power, we will build a welfare-oriented Bangladesh free from discrimination, terrorism, extortion, and corruption, where women will play a major role in nation-building, Insha’Allah.”
