Rajshahi: A two-day Women Entrepreneurs’ Fair commenced today at Rajshahi University (RU), marking a significant event aimed at empowering female entrepreneurs within the academic community. The fair is being held at the Shaheed Minar premises and is organized by the Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union (RUCSU) in collaboration with the female hall unions.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fair was inaugurated by the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) of RU, Professor Mohammad Main Uddin. During the opening ceremony held at noon, Professor Main Uddin toured the various stalls and interacted with the women entrepreneurs, praising the initiative for its commendable effort in supporting women’s contributions to entrepreneurship.
The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished guests, including RUCSU Treasurer Professor Md. Setaur Rahman, Proctor Professor Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Student Advisor Professor Md. Amirul Islam, and RUCSU VP Mostakur Rahman Zahid, along with leaders from RUCSU and the hall female unions. These attendees underscored the university’s commitment to fostering an environment that encourages female enterprise.
A total of 42 women-led businesses are showcasing their products and services at the fair, providing them an opportunity to reach a broader audience and gain valuable exposure. The fair serves as a platform for these entrepreneurs to network, share ideas, and inspire others within the university and the local community.
