Khulna: A woman drowned in a pond in Batiaghata upazila of Khulna on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Josna Kundu, wife of Indrajit Kundu, a resident of Kundupara area in the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Md. Abdur Rahim, Officer-in-Charge of Batiaghata Police Station, stated that Josna, who had been suffering from an illness, was cleaning utensils by a pond in front of her house around 8:00 pm when she accidentally slipped and fell into the water.
Her relatives began searching for her later that night after failing to find her inside the house. Eventually, her body was found floating in the pond. The body was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital on Monday morning for autopsy.
