Jhenaidah: A woman was killed and two others were injured in a road accident on the Jhenaidah-Harinakundu road in Harinakundu upazila of the district this morning. The deceased was identified as Sohagi Khatun, 49, wife of the late Umbat Ali of Shakharidaha village of the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred in front of Haji Arshad Ali College around 8 am when a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Golden Line’ hit an easy bike from behind. The bus driver reportedly lost control over the steering, leaving easy bike passenger Sohagi dead on the spot and two others injured. Shahidul Islam Howlader, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Harinakundu Police Station, provided this information.
The injured, including the easy bike driver, were taken to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital for medical treatment.
