Rangpur: Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Professor Ali Riaz on Wednesday emphasized that voting ‘Yes’ in the upcoming referendum would be crucial in establishing a new, discrimination-free Bangladesh for the younger generation.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Prof. Riaz made these remarks during a divisional-level Imam Conference held at Abu Sayeed Stadium in Rangpur. The conference was organized to promote the referendum and motivate voters. Prof. Riaz stressed the importance of the referendum in shaping the future of Bangladesh, urging citizens to support the ‘Yes’ vote to rebuild the nation.

Highlighting the significance of the July Charter, Prof. Riaz stated that while it was inscribed in black ink, it symbolically represents the sacrifices made during the Uprising of 2024. He insisted that a ‘Yes’ vote is imperative for implementing the ideals encapsulated in the Charter.

Prof. Riaz clarified that the referendum is not a vote for any individual but a decision on the country’s future governance. He assured that a ‘Yes’ vote would prevent any political party from obstructing necessary reforms.

Additionally, Ali Riaz pointed out the rampant looting of public funds over the past 16 years. He argued that a ‘Yes’ vote would be instrumental in curbing corruption and financial misconduct in various sectors.
