Dhaka: Water levels at 47 river stations monitored by the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have indicated an increase, while 73 stations have recorded a decline. Among the 119 monitored river stations, water levels at seven stations have remained steady, with all rivers flowing below danger levels, as stated in a bulletin issued by the FFWC.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the water level of the Ganges is rising, whereas the water level of the Padma is falling. The levels of these rivers may continue to rise over the next five days, but are anticipated to remain below their danger levels. In this basin, moderate to moderately heavy rainfall is likely over the next five days. Meanwhile, the Surma River's water level remains steady, and the Kushiyara River's level is falling, both flowing below their danger levels. These river levels may rise over the next three days.
The Brahmaputra and Jamuna rivers are experiencing falling water levels. Over the next three days, the Brahmaputra's level may continue to fall and then stabilize for the following two days, while the Jamuna's level may continue to fall over the next five days, both expected to flow below their danger levels. This basin may experience light to moderate rainfall for the next two days and moderate to moderately heavy rainfall for the subsequent three days.
The water level of the Teesta River is on the rise, while the water levels of the Dharla and Dudhkumar rivers remain steady, all flowing below their danger levels. Over the next two days, the water levels of these rivers are expected to remain steady and may begin to fall thereafter.
