A Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) politician wanted in three criminal cases has been arrested, police said on Thursday.
The arrestee has been identified as Shariful Islam Tuhin, member secretary of JCD’s Chattogram metropolitan unit.
A police team arrested Tuhin from in front of Hotel Radisson Blue in the Kazir Dewri area of the port city on Wednesday night, said Santosh Kumar Chakma, officer-in-charge of Khulshi Police Station.
He will be produced in a court on Thursday, the OC added.
Meanwhile, Abul Hashem Bakkar, member secretary of opposition BNP’s Chattogram metropolitan unit, has strongly condemned the arrest of the JCD leader.
