Cumilla: A dilapidated wall of a restaurant in Chandina upazila collapsed, instantly killing an elderly man, police and witnesses reported. The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 am in the Bagur Bazar area near the Bagur bus stand.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased was identified as Abdus Samad, 65, who was the father-in-law of the restaurant owner. Abdus Samad, a resident of Shaktala village in Debidwar Upazila, was working at the cash table of the hotel when the tragic accident took place.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandina Police Station, Atiqur Rahman, confirmed that upon receiving information, law enforcement officials and local residents promptly arrived at the scene. They recovered the body and subsequently handed it over to the police.
An unnatural death (UD) case has been filed with the relevant police station, as investigations into the incident continue.
