Anjana Rani Haldar, who has been visually impaired since birth, has sought the intervention of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to get her a job to support her family.

Anjana held a press conference at Kushtia Press Club on Tuesday in this regard as she has reached the edge of the age limit for entering government jobs.

With the physically challenged elderly parents, her family has somehow managed a place to live in the governmental land of the old Ansar office on Bibi Nandi Road in Amlapara area of Kushtia town. Father Mandari Haldar, who was physically disabled in a road accident, sells tea on the pavement of the town.

Anjana is the youngest of three brothers and one sister in the family.

Anjana completed her graduation in History department from Kushtia Government College in 2013 and post-graduation in 2014, fighting against all odds of the society. Despite all her struggle, she failed to get any job with her qualification.

She is currently earning a living by private tuition and teaching music to children.

At the press conference, Anjana said, โ€œI have come so far through the cooperation and relentless hard work of my parents. Being disabled, I can’t get a job even after passing my masters.โ€

โ€œNow I am seeking a government job with the intervention of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. I want a chance to meet her. I will beg her for a government job by telling her the battle of life.โ€

โ€œWhen I get a job, I will be able to stand by my family and put a smile on my family’s face,โ€ she said.

Anjana’s mother Fulmala Haldar and studentโ€™s mother Rehena Ahmed were present at the press conference.
