Vaccination Deemed Essential to Combat Typhoid, Experts Emphasize

Panchagarh: Speakers at an orientation workshop highlighted the critical importance of vaccination in preventing typhoid, a disease known to spread through contaminated food and water, which can become fatal if not promptly diagnosed and treated. The workshop was convened at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room and aimed at the effective implementation of the Typhoid Vaccination Campaign-2025 in the district.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Panchagarh District Information Office organized the event, as detailed in a press release from PID’s Rangpur Regional Office. Panchagarh Deputy Commissioner Md Sabet Ali attended as the chief guest, with the session presided over by District Information Office Information Officer Ujjwal Sheel. Notable attendees also included Panchagarh Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Additional District Commissioner Suman Chandra Das, and Director of the Department of Mass Communication Dalia Yasmin, who participated virtually.



The chief guest emphasized the need for representatives at the workshop to actively disseminate accurate information about the typhoid vaccine to students. He expressed concern over the spread of misinformation regarding vaccination and stressed the necessity for effective measures to counter it. He suggested that Upazila level Scout and Girl Guide members could significantly contribute to this effort and urged all stakeholders to ensure the success of the typhoid vaccination campaign.



The event saw participation from government officials, Scout members, and journalists, all committed to supporting the campaign’s goals.
