Dhaka: A three-member US delegation, led by US Ambassador in Dhaka Brent T Christensen, today paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister’s Defense Adviser Brigadier General (retd) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam. The meeting took place in the Defense Adviser’s office at the Armed Forces Division in Dhaka Cantonment, according to an ISPR press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the discussions centered on the strong bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United States, focusing on mutual interests. Key topics included enhancing cooperation at the military level, exchanging experiences, and expanding training activities between the two nations.
The Defense Adviser reminisced about the enduring friendly relations between Bangladesh and the United States and expressed optimism that collaboration in the defense sector will advance further. The US Ambassador commended the professionalism of the Bangladesh Armed Forces and their significant contributions to UN peacekeeping missions.
The meeting is anticipated to further solidify and broaden defense cooperation between Bangladesh and the United States, while also strengthening the friendly ties between the two countries in the future.
