The United States (US) Ambassador to
Bangladesh Peter Haas made a courtesy call on Mayor of Rajshahi City
Corporation (RCC) AHM Khairuzzaman Liton at the latter’s office here this
afternoon.
After the meeting, Mayor Liton said they have discussed bilateral relations
between Bangladesh and the US. He said the American embassy is conducting a
feasibility study for expanding the working area of Rajshahi’s American
Corner.
Liton also said the US is extending support to training of Bangladesh Police
which is laudable.
As a whole, they held a fruitful meeting that will contribute a lot to
boosting bilateral relations between the two countries.
US Ambassador Peter Haas said he has visited Rajshahi Sopura Silk Factory,
office of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police along with its victim support centre,
cyber and security training centre, Varendra Research Museum and American
Corner and inspected the ongoing activities of those.
He also said that Rajshahi has become a clean and green city.
