Rangpur: Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain today stated that the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad election poses a significant challenge for the country's law enforcement agencies. Speaking as the chief guest at a view-exchanging meeting with Rangpur district officials at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room, he emphasized the need for vigilance by the law enforcers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, expressed that the upcoming election is intended to be an ideal one, requiring the law enforcement agencies to remain alert. The event was presided over by the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur, Mohammad Enamul Ahsan.
Md Touhid Hossain highlighted that the interim government aims to transfer responsibilities to an elected government through a fair electoral process. He remarked on the improved law and order situation, crediting the police for their effective organization and integration. Additionally, he pointed out the importance of focusing on the education and health sectors, mentioning ongoing projects initiated by the interim government that he hopes the succeeding government will continue.
Addressing the topic of potato exports, he noted the government's serious consideration of the matter, acknowledging the challenge due to limited international demand. On the topic of exporting human resources, he advised that individuals should possess skills to secure better salaries abroad, as the lack of skills often results in lower wages.
Md Touhid Hossain also brought attention to the numerous vacant nursing positions abroad, suggesting that skilled nurses can secure lucrative salaries, and urged relevant departments to take necessary actions.
The meeting also featured speeches from newly appointed Superintendent of Police Mohammad Marufat Hussain, Civil Surgeon Dr. Shaheen Sultana, Deputy Police Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Md. Tofail Ahmed, District Livestock Officer Dr. Md. Abu Sayeed, among other officials. Prior to the discussions, attendees viewed a video titled "Rangpur, the center of progress in the northern region."
In addition, Md Touhid Hossain toured key locations and establishments in Rangpur and is slated to visit Rangpur Cadet College later this afternoon.
