Dhaka: Land Adviser Ali Imam Majumder today emphasized that the upazila land office is a crucial center for providing citizen services, despite facing several challenges in delivering seamless services. 'The activities of land administration are mainly conducted at the upazila level through the upazila land office. Almost all land-related services to the common people are provided through this office. Therefore, the upazila land office is one of the main centers of citizen services,' he stated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ali Imam Majumder made these remarks during a workshop titled 'Upazila Land Office Services: Challenges of Good Governance and Ways to Overcome,' held at the Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) auditorium in the capital. The workshop featured Land Ministry Senior Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed as the special guest, while TIB Executive Director Dr. Iftekharuzzaman delivered the welcoming speech.
Ali Imam highlighted that citizens have long suffered from a lack of good governance and transparency within the land sector. He stressed the urgent need for establishing good governance as a priority. In response to this need, the government has taken steps to digitalize land administration, ensuring that all land services are now accessible online from home.
