Dhaka: United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres left Dhaka at 9:55 am today, concluding his four-day visit to Bangladesh. He was seen off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by Environment Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan and Chief Adviser’s High Representative for Rohingya Crisis Khalilur Rahman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, before his departure, Guterres engaged in a phone conversation with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, where they exchanged farewell greetings. During his visit, the UN secretary general participated in several key activities, including meetings with the chief adviser and other high-ranking officials.
Guterres’s itinerary included a visit to the Rohingya camps, where he shared Ramadan Solidarity and had Iftar with approximately one million Rohingyas, accompanied by the chief adviser. Additionally, the UN secretary general took part in roundtable discussions with members of the National Consensus Building Commission, political leaders, Bangladeshi youths, and civil society members.
