Dhaka: UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdulla Ali Al Hmoudi today expressed his country's interest in enhancing collaboration with Bangladesh across various sectors, including civil aviation, ports, logistics, and defense. He emphasized the UAE's commitment to bolstering economic and business relations between the two nations. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ambassador Al Hmoudi made these remarks during a reception organized by the UAE Embassy in Dhaka to commemorate the 53rd Union Day of the UAE. The ambassador highlighted the importance of direct investment as a means to strengthen economic cooperation and reiterated his government's dedication to working with Bangladesh's interim government towards a prosperous future. This year marks the 50-year milestone of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Bangladesh, a testament to their enduring partnership. The ambassador expressed enthusiasm for a strategic partnership with Bangladesh, acknowledging the significant contributions of the 1.2 million Bangladeshi expatriates residing in the UAE to both countries' economies. The reception was attended by Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser AF Hassan Ariff as the chief guest. The event also saw the participation of government advisers, ambassadors, diplomatic mission heads, senior government officials, business leaders, and representatives from media and civil society.
