Dhaka: The Bangladesh U-19 national football team participated in a recovery session today before their upcoming semifinal match in the ongoing SAFF U-19 Championship being held in India. Following consecutive group stage matches, including a recent game against Bhutan, the team opted to skip traditional ground training and instead focused on physical and mental recovery activities.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the team engaged in a light gym session at their hotel in the afternoon, which lasted for half an hour. This was part of the team's strategy to maintain light activity while prioritizing recovery. The squad is scheduled to return to the field for a training session tomorrow as they continue preparations for their crucial semifinal match.

Center back Mithu Chowdhury expressed optimism following their group stage performance, particularly after their 3-0 victory over Bhutan, which secured their place in the semifinals. Chowdhury stated, "We had a very important group match against Bhutan and we won the match 3-0 and qualified for the semifinal. Our main target is how to go in the final and we are taking preparation as accordingly."

He further added that the recovery session was conducted as per the coach's instructions, and the team is focused on preparing for the upcoming semifinal encounter. The Bangladesh U-19 team, the defending champions of the SAFF U-19 Championship, had earlier drawn 2-2 with the Maldives in their opening group match, and their victory over Bhutan confirmed their position in the semifinals.
