Dhaka: An inter-district U-18 women’s kabaddi talent hunt program was officially inaugurated today at the Riya Gope Women’s Sports Complex in the capital, as announced in a press release. The five-day event aims to identify and nurture young kabaddi talent across the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the talent hunt program was inaugurated by Md Salim Fakir, the additional secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, who attended as the chief guest. The opening ceremony also saw the presence of SM Newaz Shohag, the general secretary of the Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation, as the special guest.
The event is organized by the Bangladesh Women’s Sports Association (BWSA) and was attended by several key figures, including BWSA acting president Anjuman Ara Aksir and acting general secretary engineer Feroza Karim Naly, along with other members of the executive committee. The program will conclude on July 6, with Md Aminul Islam, the National Sports Council secretary, attending the closing ceremony as the chief guest to distribute certificates among the participants.
A total of 48 players from various districts are participating in the program, which is focused on promoting and developing women’s kabaddi at a grassroots level.
