Khulna: Police arrested two youths with a foreign-made pistol in the city this afternoon. The arrestees were identified as Mamun Molla, 30, son of Hafiz Molla of Haji Fayez Uddin Cross Road, and Lavlu Ahmed, 28, son of Badrul Alam of Rayermohol Mosque area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sub-Inspector Nadim Mahmud of Sonadanga Model Police Station reported that a patrol team noticed three youths conversing in front of a house on Haji Fayez Uddin Road at Boyra Aziz intersection around 3:45 pm. Upon sensing the presence of police, one individual fled the scene, raising suspicion. The police subsequently searched the remaining two individuals, who were on a motorcycle, and discovered a foreign-made pistol and a magazine concealed at Lavlu’s waist.
Both suspects have been taken to the police station for further questioning. Officer-in-Charge Md. Rafiqul Islam confirmed that a case under the Arms Act is being prepared against the duo.
