Two Workers Die After Inhaling Toxic Gas in Pabna

Pabna: Two workers died after inhaling toxic gas from a septic tank at a house in Dakshinpara village under Bera upazila of the district. The deceased were identified as Sajibul Islam, 25, son of Abul Kalam, and Mostaqin Hossain, 30, son of Abdul Gafur, both residents of Hatigara area in Bera municipality.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred when the workers were attempting to open the bamboo mould of the septic tank used during the construction of the roof. As they worked to open the shutter, they became trapped in the tank and inhaled the toxic gas. Bera Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Oliur Rahman confirmed the details of the accident.



The accident resulted in four workers falling unconscious. Local residents, alerted by their screams, rushed to the scene and took the workers to Bera Upazila Health Complex. Upon arrival, on-duty doctors declared Sajibul Islam and Mostaqin Hossain dead.



Following the initial medical response, the other two workers, Rabiul Islam and Samrat Sheikh, were transferred to Pabna General Hospital for further treatment.
