Kushtia: Two women were killed as a trolley hit a rickshaw-van in Mirpur upazila of the district today. The deceased were identified as Sabela, 70, and Morium Begum, both residents of Kaborbaria village in the upazila. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the unfortunate incident took place around 9 am at Mashan Bazar. A trolley collided with a rickshaw-van, resulting in severe injuries to its two passengers. The injured women, Sabela and Morium, were promptly transported to Kushtia General Hospital. Tragically, the on-duty doctor declared both women dead upon arrival. Sub Inspector Sheikh Rakibul Islam of Mirpur Police Station confirmed the details of the accident. The incident has caused significant sorrow in the local community, as both women were well-known residents of Kaborbaria village. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the collision.
