Two Pickle Factories Penalized for Unhygienic Practices in Chattogram

Chattogram: A mobile court today fined two pickle factories a total of Taka 3 lakh for producing pickles in unhygienic conditions, storing rotten products, using expired labels, and marketing them in the city’s Reazuddin Bazar area. The drive was conducted in the afternoon on Rahmatunnesa Road of Reazuddin Bazar, led by Executive Magistrate of Chattogram District Administration Jannatul Ferdous.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the operation, M/S. Nasir Brothers was fined Taka 2 lakh, and Ajmir Trading was fined Taka 1 lakh for serious violations of food safety regulations. The inspection revealed concerning practices in both facilities, prompting immediate action from the authorities.



Food Safety Officer Muhammad Muntasir Mahmud, Food Safety Inspector Yasinul Haque Chowdhury, and members of the police were also present during the drive, ensuring that the proceedings were conducted smoothly and effectively. The operation is part of an ongoing effort to enforce food safety standards in the region.



The magistrate emphasized that such drives will continue to ensure food safety and protect public health. This initiative is seen as a crucial step in safeguarding consumers from potential health risks associated with contaminated food products.
