Two Pedestrians Killed in Truck Accident on Kishoreganj-Bhairab Highway

Kishoreganj: Two pedestrians lost their lives and ten others sustained injuries when a truck ran over them at the Akbarnagar Bus Stand Bazar area on the Kishoreganj-Bhairab regional highway this morning.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the victims were identified as Md Halim Mia, 60, from Akbarnagar village, and Angur Mia, 45, from Jagrarchar Munshibari, both located in Bairab upazila. The tragic incident occurred when a Bhairab-bound truck, carrying wood from Kishoreganj, struck the pedestrians around 8 a.m., resulting in their immediate death.

In addition to the fatalities, ten individuals were injured as two auto-rickshaws overturned during the accident. The injured were promptly taken to various hospitals within the upazila for medical attention.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhairab Highway Police Station, Md Sahabur Rahman, confirmed the fatalities and reported that police have recovered the bodies, which have been sent to the morgue for further proceedings.
