Chattogram: Two more individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, out of 112 samples tested in the city and district. With these latest cases, the total number of Coronavirus infections in Chattogram has risen to 180 in the past 27 days, according to Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam, who spoke to BSS today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Covid-19 tests are being conducted in 11 laboratories, including the RT-PCR lab at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH). Currently, 71 patients are receiving treatment at various designated hospitals in the district. Of the 180 confirmed cases, 164 are from the port city, while the remaining 16 are residents of different upazilas. So far, seven Covid-19 related deaths have been reported in the district.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that the Health Department is prepared to prevent further spread of the virus and urged all to avoid public gatherings and wear masks.
