Rajbari: Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident at Pangsha West Kurapara under Pangsha upazila of the district last night. The deceased were identified as Miraj, son of Ibrahim Hossain, and Sajeeb, son of Saidul Islam, both residents of Kurapara village of the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred around 10:00 pm on the Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway when a truck hit a motorcycle from behind. The Officer-in-Charge of Pangsha Police Station, Sheikh Mominul Islam, stated that the victims were traveling toward Pangsha town on a motorcycle when the speeding truck hit them, resulting in one rider being killed on the spot and the other sustaining severe injuries.
Miraj, who was injured in the crash, was rushed to a nearby hospital where the on-duty physician declared him dead. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the exact cause and to take necessary actions against the truck driver involved.
