Sunamganj: Two motorcycle riders were killed in a road accident in the Sichni area under Shantiganj upazila this morning. The deceased were Rajan Ahamed, 25, son of Habibur Rahman of Aktapara village in Shantiganj upazila, and Amiriul Islam, 40, son of late Sayed Mokuddus Ali, a resident of Nurpur village in Derai upazila of the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tragic incident occurred when a CNG-run auto rickshaw collided head-on with a motorbike on the Sunamganj-Jagannathpur road around 10:30 am, resulting in the immediate death of the two bike riders. M Akram Ali, officer-in-charge of Shantiganj police station, confirmed the details of the accident.
Police have since recovered the bodies and sent them to Sadar Hospital morgue for further procedures.
