Dhaka: Two motorcyclists were killed and six others injured following a clash between a microbus and a motorcycle at Austomitola in Sherpur here during the early hours today. The deceased were identified as Rony, 18, and Gourav, 12, both employees of Color Digital Lab in Sherpur town.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, police and witnesses reported that a speedy microbus was heading toward Jamalpur from Sherpur town when it collided with an auto rickshaw at Austomitola around 1 am. The impact left bike rider Rony dead on the spot.
Later, the critically injured motorcyclist Gourav was sent to Sherpur district hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
The microbus driver and other passengers managed to flee after the accident. “We are trying to arrest those involved in the accident,” said Officer In-Charge (OC) of Sherpur Sadar Police Station M Jubaidul Alam.
