Brahmanbaria:Two motorcyclists lost their lives in a tragic accident when a truck collided with their motorcycle in the Baishwamora area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Sarail upazila this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the victims were identified as Anup Kumar, 55, and Anwarul Azim, 40, both residents of Narsingdi district. The collision occurred when the truck hit the motorcycle from behind, resulting in Anup Kumar's immediate death at the scene, while Anwarul Azim sustained critical injuries.
Anwarul Azim was taken to Sadar hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The Officer-in-Charge of Khatihata Highway Police Station, Abdul Halim, stated that the truck driver fled the scene following the accident. The truck has been secured by the police, and legal proceedings are currently underway.
