Dhaka: Two more people have died of measles in the country in the last 24 hours, according to a press release sent from the control center of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the release indicated that 888 new suspected measles patients have been identified across the country, with 80 laboratory-confirmed cases in the last 24 hours. From March 15 to April 11, the total number of confirmed measles patients reached 2,489, while suspected cases stood at 14,385.
The report further stated that as of March 15, 24 people have died from confirmed measles, while 145 have died from suspected cases. Dhaka Division reported the highest number of suspected measles cases, with 6,078 infections, of which 1,350 were confirmed.
The DGHS is actively monitoring the situation, collecting, and analyzing data through the Integrated Control Center. In addition to providing necessary medical care for patients, the public has been advised to remain vigilant.
